About

Hi I'm Rose the person behind Dog & Chain Jewellery. I am a maker a heart and by no means a writer so instead of writing a brand manifesto, I just wanted to share why I do this, what inspires me and what I hope to achieve.

I started Dog & Chain Jewellery in early 2024 in the hope of being able to build a business. The reason I have always been drawn to jewellery as a craft is because I love working with my hands and is the most heart warming thing to see something you've made on the people you know. My ambition was to expand this beyond my circle to a wider community wearing my designs.

My inspiration comes from various shapes and textures I find in my environment and all forms of culture beyond jewellery such as music, illustration and queer culture. Other forms of artwork and the properties of materials I use all feed into the way I design and create.

Another aspect of my brand that I really care about is using recycled materials and keeping all manufacturing within my studio in London or with UK based casters. By sharing my making processes on social media, I want to engage people with how the things they purchase are made and what type of business they are supporting. I understand the attraction to fast fashion jewellery with aggressive marketing and cheap materials, however I'm proud to be a part of the small business craft movement in the UK that prioritises originality and longevity in their products.

All kinds of support, from a like on socials to a purchase is hugely appreciated,

Rose
